  • Week 1: Inventory & Reflection

After checking in and introducing students and teacher, an overview of the course and final portfolio will be presented and explained to students on WebEx.  Expectations of class progress and accomplishment will be shared and discussed with students.

This week students will take a variety of inventories and surveys to explore different ways of looking at skills that lead to decisions about career choices.  Students will reflect on the results in writing.

Questions for students to think about include: What are my skills?  What skills am I or can I develop? How do my skills match career requirements? What character traits do I act upon?  What do I value?  What lifestyle do I want for the future? Who has influenced me in how I view myself and the choices I have made?  Who has acted as a mentor or champion for my life?
