    GIRLS BASKETBALL: Your Holmes Hawks had its 1st home basketball game last night and it was a barn burner! With a minute left, the Hawks had come within 4 pts. but fell short at the buzzer.  High scorers for Holmes were Elsie Walker, Landry Frost and Leighton Trafton-Abrams. Crashing the boards and leading the team in rebounds was Kamari Irving. The team will play away against the Mann Lancers.  Good luck team!

    B-SQUAD BASKETBALL: Your B-squad basketball team suffered it's 1st loss last night to the Sabin Saints. Your Hawks fought hard to the end. Scoring 6 points was Yasmine Medina. Leading the team in rebounds was Leighton Trafton-Abrams, and the hustle award goes to Estella Baltes. The girls will play at Russell tomorrow. Good luck!     GIRLS BASKETBALL: Congrats to Holmes A-Squad basketball getting their 1st win against Galileo last night. The season opened with an exciting fast paced game. Libby Gutowski led scoring grabbing steal after steal for lay ups. While Alicya Parris and Zoe Cole dominated the boards. Great job Hawks! Congratulations to B-Squad girls basketball on their win last night against Galileo. Leading the team in steals was Ellie Moore and Tully Thomas. Dominating the boards was Jaeda Nowling and Elsie Walker. Nine of the Hawks contibuted to points on the scoreboard. High scorers were Leighton Trafton-Abrams with 8, Elsie Walker with 6, and Jaeda Nowling and Yasmine Medina each added 4 points.  Way to go team!

    HALLOWEEN COSTUME DAY: We are celebrating Halloween today, Wednesday this week.  Costumes are allowed and encouraged on Wednesday.  The same rules apply as in the past:

    • No overly gory, bloody, or gross
    • No weapons or replicas of weapons including, but not limited to: hatchets, axes, knives, guns, rifles, clubs, etc.
    • No overly revealing, thin, sheer, or suggestive clothing.  All school dress codes apply
    • Students my need to adapt to the classroom setting, ie:  deflate, take off gloves, etc. to accomplish school work. There is NO REQUIREMENT this year to wear a costume, but we are strongly encouraging all students to bring in a canned good to help with Hawks Help.

    HALLOWEEN COSTUME DAY: We are celebrating Halloween on Wednesday this week.  Costumes are allowed and encouraged on Wednesday.  The same rules apply as in the past:

    • No overly gory, bloody, or gross
    • No weapons or replicas of weapons including, but not limited to: hatchets, axes, knives, guns, rifles, clubs, etc.
    • No overly revealing, thin, sheer, or suggestive clothing.  All school dress codes apply
    • Students my need to adapt to the classroom setting, ie:  deflate, take off gloves, etc. to accomplish school work. There is NO REQUIREMENT this year to wear a costume, but we are strongly encouraging all students to bring in a canned good to help with Hawks Help.  

    HOLMES BOOK OF THE YEAR: The 1st Holmes Book of the Year Donut Day is Wednesday, October 27th. If you have read and taken the test for 2 Holmes Book of the year books you will get a free donut in the library on October 27th. Visit the library for more information.

    OUTDOOR ADVENTURE CLUB: Good morning Outdoor Adventure Club! See you in Mr. Ross' Rm. 32 after school today from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Our next adventure is hiking at the Crags! Invite a friend! Mr. Ross

    NJHS: Attention all members of the National Junior Honor Society, please check your school email for some important information.

    VETERANS DAY:Teachers: in case you haven't gotten them yet, the invitations for the Veterans Day assembly are in your mailboxes to hand out to your Hawk Time students. There are enough for each student to have 4.  Please put any extras in my mailbox.  Thank you!  Ms. Napper

    PBIS: Hey Soaring Hawks! There are 2 Halloween bags up for a raffle by the front office. Put your soar cards in the containers for a chance to win! Drawing will take place on Wednesday! Good luck!  Mrs. Brown
