Dr. Alfredo Pargas
Dr. Pargas was born in El Paso, Texas in 1983. He grew up in a military family living in some of the Navy’s major bases. He has lived in San Diego, Virginia Beach, and Honolulu. After graduating from Moanalua High in Honolulu, he went to college in Colorado, where he met his wife and favorite teacher, Dr. Molly Pargas. Immediately after college, he enlisted in the Navy for six years. While in the Navy, he made it through Naval Special Warfare (NSW) selection and training to become a Special Warfare Combatant-Craft Crewman (SWCC). While in the Navy, he had three children and started working on his teaching degree. After leaving the Navy in 2013, he and his wife started working as teachers in Colorado Springs.
Dr. Pargas loves empowering, learning, and working with his Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) families. He and his wife recently graduated together from the University of Denver with a doctorate in educational leadership and policy studies. His dissertation “Equity Battles: Multicultural Leadership for English Language Learner Students” revolves around creating capacity and awareness to better support educators and CLD families.
His hobbies include being challenged, learning, reading, working out, cooking, traveling, camping, fishing, and trying to be the best version of himself. His most important priority is being a great husband and father to his family.
