Penrose Elementary School

I am so pleased to be able to introduce myself to you. My name is Katie Schoolmaster, and I am honored to have been chosen to work beside you as your school principal. Let me start by introducing myself to you. I am currently in my 18th year in education and have been in District 11 for my entire career. I started teaching as a reading interventionist at Mark Twain Elementary School. I transitioned to special education while at Twain and then moved to Russell Middle School, where I was a SPED teacher, staff coordinator, and MTSS leader. After Russell, I transitioned to a district-level SPED coaching position for five years. During this time as a coach, I recognized that my passion was in elementary leadership work, and I became the assistant principal at Monroe Elementary School, where I have been for the past five years.

I look forward to us getting to know each other and understanding how, together, we can achieve great success for our students, families, and our community. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have. I cannot wait to start this important and valuable work with you!
